jDBexport 3.1.3 available

Dear jDBexport users,

today we announce the immediate availability of the next release of jDBexport. This release contains another substancial number of bugfixes and a few new exiting (at least we belief so) features:

most important probably is a new approach to performance issues:
Next to the DOWNLOAD button you will discover a new icon "Create in background". This will trigger a background process (AJAX driven) that will create the workbook and deliver it to the email address of the current user. So the user does not have to wait for the workbook in front of the site.

But this is only one part of the approach. Another solution is to select a faster XLSX writer when defining the workbook. This creates a basic XML file that can be openen in Excel directly (lightning fast). However, the downside with this writer is, that it ignores virtually all formatting options, Excel (and jDBexport) offer.

And the third option is to temporarly increase execution time for the creation of the workbook - we implented a corresponding setting in the components options dialog (provided your webserver allows overriding this PHP setting).

So these three solutions should give you enough possibilities to handle your complex workbooks according to your needs...



The download package does include the datagrid plugin and the datafield plugin, as well as the administration module and frontend module. Please inform us, if you encounter any issues.

Together with the download package, we release the "ttfonts" module in the download area. This module is targeted at users, who want to embed their own TrueType fonts into their PDF documents. We described the nessessary steps to do this in our online documentation .
