jDBexport forthcomming version 3.2.4 announcement was created by Rüdiger Schultz
Dear jDBexport users,
With the latest version 3.5.1 of JOOMLA, the JOOMLA team implemented a major change in the sendEmail functionality. This change causes a significant number of third-party extensions (which are using the sendEmail functionality in a certain way) to break.
This is also the case for jDBexport, we are afraid.
The solution already is implemented in the upcomming version jDBexport 3.2.4, and we are currently verifying the whole component to make it fit for release.
This release initially was planned for may 2016, the above mentioned situation drives us to publish this release earlier.
Important note for updating to jDBexport 3.2.4:
With Joomla 3.5.0, the Joomla core team forces the usage of UTF8-Multibyte (UTF8MB4) collation. jDBexport is honoring this design descision, and our version 3.2.4 is also converting all text columns of jdbexport tables to use UTF8MB4 collation.
So when updating from any previous version to jDBexport 3.2.4, you might expirience errors during update, if we try to apply UTF8MB4 collation to a database column that does not exist. These errors can be solved simply by adding the respective column to the database table.
We will publish a respective help note with all details in the support forum before publishing jDBexport 3.2.4
Kind regards
Ruediger Schultz
