Dear jDBexport users,

Today we publish the next stable version of the latest versionbranch 4.0 for jDBexport. This version contains a number of bugfixes (including the "false positive" database error messages in Joomlas "System - Maintenance - Database" page (the one with the "has the wrong type or attributes for column" messages). It turned out this really was a Joomla issue, and not something jDBexport did wrong.

But the main reason for this release is our new feature to assist you with the development of your SQL queries. Below the main query input field (on the Worksheet page), you will find a new tab "SQL by AI", which allows you to submit your natural language description of what you want to achieve, and ChatGPT will respond with suggestions on how to write your SQL query. Give it a try and report your experiences in our dedicated SQL by AI forum post - we look forward to hear from you!

Unfortunally, this service by OpenAI is not free, so we included a 1,00 EUR ChatGPT allowance for each active subscription to jDBexport. This is most likely enough for your needs (if you actually stumble across this limit, please contact us and we can find a solution!). This is one of the reasons, we had to increase the subscription fee from EUR 38,00 (which was introduced in january 2016) to currently EUR 43,00

We hope you are as excited about this new feature as we are!

This version of jDBexport is compatible with Joomla3, Joomla4 and partly with Joomla5 (for now with Joomla's "compatibility plugin" activated). We are now starting to do a full overhaul of jDBexport to support Joomla5 and the future!

As always, you find the latest version in the download area for you to use, it should also be available through the Joomla updater (if not, please do not hesitate to contact us). And of course we are always here if you stumble across any issues!

We are looking forward to your feedback.

Kind regards
